A few weekends back, APB headed to Charlotte, NC, for the debut Lovin’ Life Music Festival, featuring a lineup ranging from classic names like The Fray and The Struts, iconic legend Stevie Nicks, to popular artists like Dababy, Post Malone, and Maggie Rogers.
There, we had the pleasure of catching up with Maryam (@maryamthomass), a local content creator, and Kamelia (@_.kambam_), a passionate skateboarder, as they explored the festival grounds and showcased their #APBStyle. WHAT ARE YOUR 5 FESTIVAL MUST-HAVES?
M: You absolutely need a Water Bag/Water Pouch to stay hydrated for free at the refillable stations, lip balm or gloss, Sunscreen/Sunglasses, Portable Charger for content and emergencies, and cash for merch.
K: Definitely have a bookbag to hold all your things, a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated, Phone charger, and money for good drinks and food.
IF YOU COULD CREATE YOUR DREAM FESTIVAL LINEUP, WHAT THREE ARTISTS OR BANDS WOULD YOU WANT TO PERFORM?
M: SZA (I’ve seen her 3 times and got to hang out with her), Bad Bunny, and Kodak Black.
K: I would for sure bring out SZA, 21 Savage, and Nicki Minaj.

DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY IN CHARLOTTE.
M: Hot girl walking around Uptown listening to music, Going to a local coffee shop (my fav drink is at a cat cafe in NODA called Mac Tabby) and getting some work done, then getting some outside time with my pups.
K: I love getting food from my favorite restaurant Don Pedro, and skateboarding Uptown/Going to the Skatepark.
WHO WAS YOUR FAVORITE ARTIST THAT PERFORMED?
M: I loved Happy Landing! But, my love for The Fray definitely reignited.
K: I loved The Fray!
WHAT FASHION ICONS INSPIRE YOUR STYLE CHOICES?
M: Rihanna. But I am constantly influenced by my friend Jade. She always takes risks with her fashion choices and inspires me to find my own unique style.
K: I’m not inspired by anyone but, I really love to stand out. Usually, 9/10 people don’t believe I’m a skater when they see me and I like that because it makes me unique.

WHAT SONGS HAVE BEEN IN YOUR ROTATION RECENTLY?
M: Recently, I've been listening to "Never Lose Me (Remix)" by Flo Mili, "Praise Jah in the Moonlight" by YG Marley, and "Bubalu" by Becky G.
K: "Hood B** Aesthetics" by Rubi Rose and the album "Fountain Baby" by Amaarae.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT FROM THE LOVIN LIFE MUSIC FESTIVAL?
M: My favorite moment was chilling at the tables in the food truck area. I live uptown, so I was interested to see how they actually made the festival come to life. Also, the photo ops and the merch table.
K: Exploring the festival grounds and taking pictures at the photo ops.
